Many of this construction projects are on track to be completed by the time classes begin in late August.

Here are a few of the brand new developments you can expect to see this fall:

A new dining hall that is residential!

A former food court, Café 84 will be transformed into USC’s third dining hall that is formal. Another facility that is dining Everybody’s Kitchen (EVK), will get a remodel as well as the addition of the brand new grill station and a Starbucks!

A upgrade that is beautiful the center of campus!

Hahn Plaza (the area in the front of Tommy Trojan) is getting a makeover! The plaza will be enhanced with a brick that is beautiful along with the redesign of thePatsy and Forrest Shumway Water Fountain.

A home that is new Trojan Athletes!

The much opening that is anticipated of John McKay Center is fast approaching! Annually and a half into the making, the new facility that is athletic office complex will be starting its doors to students and athletes this summer. The McKay Center will serve since the house for Trojan athletics and house a range training facilities, including a practice football industry within the basement degree!

Summer Olympics

The opening ceremony for the 2012 Olympics is coming this Friday! Whether you like watching individual events or team events, there’s something for everybody else.

The London Olympics also present an opportunity to cheer on current and former Trojans! There could be more than 30 athletes participating in sports such as water polo, volleyball, and track representing the Trojan family members. There will also be a number of current USC coaches whom will be lending their coaching expertise during the Olympic games.

USC has a long tradition of planning Olympic athletes. From 1904 to 2008, there have been nearly 400 athletes whom either went to the university before, during, or after their Olympic competition. USC has delivered more athletes to the Olympics than every other college and our athletes have gained a grand total of 262 medals.

The Olympics really are a time and energy to cheer on our country’s athletes and also unite together on a global platform. I enjoy viewing the beach volleyball matches and I’m excited to see how far the 2 former Trojans competing in beach volleyball go! Keep an eye out for every one of USC’s many competitors—they that is olympic might bring home the gold.

The Expo Line is Finally Open!!!

After six years of anticipation the expansion of Los Angeles’s light rail train system (LA Metro) has finally exposed. The Expo Line may be the way that is perfect USC pupils, staff, and faculty to have across the city without getting behind the wheel. The line that is new three stops directly down the street from our campus. One stop is on the northeast side of campus while the other two take the south side of campus.

By utilizing the Expo Line, students can go more or less anywhere in the city and take advantage that is full of Los Angeles is offering. Its simply a short ride that is five-minute the Expo Line to the Los Angeles Metro Station and from there students can connect to the other light rail train lines that run throughout the city.

Some members of our office have already traded in their cardinal and gold parking permits for the monthly metro pass to conquer their commutes to work. Our office is gradually taking over most of the seats on the 8:18am train! Our experience happens to be wonderful and we’re excited to inform pupils and families in regards to the convenience of getting around Los Angeles when we hit the road in the next weeks that are few our autumn recruitment travel.

Welcome Back, Pupils!

Summer is coming to a detailed. Classes at USC resume next week. And the absolute most things that are exciting happening on campus this week—our students are going in! Our campus is busy with students and families getting everything all set for the academic year. Welcome Week has officially started.

In between the necessary tasks like signing up for the USCard , becoming acquainted with the libraries on campus, and choosing the dinner plan, pupils and parents have numerous events and tasks to choose from during Welcome Week. There is a greeting Reception designed for moms and dads hosted by the USC Parents Council and also the Office for Parent Programs to start linking parents with all the resources our campus has to offer them. A lot of the departments that are academic campus are holding open homes for students to come meet faculty, staff, and other current students of their program. There is A perform Study Job Fair and an Involvement Fair, once we find it is necessary for USC students to lead a balanced life outside of the classroom as well as inside the classroom. During the evenings, you can find activities such being a ‘Welcome Back Dance,’ a DJ performance, and— very anticipated events— the Fall Carnival and Concert.

As you can imagine, it’s quite a busy time on campus! It is exciting to see new freshmen moving in and beginning to realize what their college experience might entail. It’s refreshing to see faces that are familiar to campus after studying abroad or working over the summer. Most of all, we’re excited to see our whole community back together in one place at the start of an unique year that is academic.
